Course overview
The BSc (Hons) Computing degree at UOCL is designed to equip students with a broad understanding of computing principles, covering areas such as programming, database management, software development, information security, and network management. The course prepares students for graduate entry into the industry or further professional study, with an emphasis on Chartered IT Professional (CITP) qualifications.
Entry requirements
Standard Entry Requirements
96 UCAS tariff points from 3 A Levels or equivalent, e.g. CCC.
Alternatively, applicants can have:
- Irish Leaving Certificate: BBCCC
- Scottish Highers: BBCCC
- BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a relevant subject
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: 24 points
All applicants must have at least 3 GCSEs at grade C (or grade 4), including English and Maths.
Foundation Year Entry Requirements
40 UCAS points for Foundation Year entry.
English language proficiency: IELTS 6.0 (Academic) or equivalent.

For 2026-2028 entry, the maximum government-approved undergraduate tuition fee for UK students is £9,250 per year. The University is able to charge this fee subject to an approved Access and Participation Plan for 2026-2028 and its current rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.
